Four three-credit general education classes of the “The Goal of University Education” are offered with the assistance of the Center of General Education. NCCU President Se-hua Wu, Dean of the College of Science Arbee L.P. Chen, Dean of the College of Communications Wayne Chung, and Dean of the School of Education Chih-yu Chan instruct the classes, which consist of 332 enrolled students.

NCCU Office of Student Affairs Division of Student Housing establishes the dormitory counseling system. Vice Dean of Student Affairs and Psychology Department professor Kuen-yung Jone and Advertising Department professor Wen-ling Chen serve as Headmasters. An additional 2 counseling teachers, 2 dormitory tutors, and 16 assistant tutors altogether make up the prototype of the Freshman Residential College.
